How tattoo deposits work in Cake

In Cake a tattoo artist sets the deposit on each request when they approve it, including no deposit at all. The client pays it directly to the artist by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App with a reference code, the artist confirms it landed, and the time is locked. Until then the time is held for the artist's confirm window: 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours, 48 unless they change it. If it isn't confirmed by then, the time goes back on offer. Card payments inside Cake are not open yet.

Four steps. You do two.

  1. 1

    You set it

On each request, when you approve it. Regulars, trades and friends get what you decide. Zero is a setting too.

  2. 2

    They pay you

Directly, by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App, with a reference code so you can match it.

  3. 3

    You confirm it

When it lands, you confirm it. Your confirm locks the time.

  4. 4

    Or it goes back

Not confirmed inside your window (you pick 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours), the time goes back on offer.

What they see.

  1. Your client sees Who to pay, how much, and the code.
The client's deposit page: pay Rosa Vega on Venmo, to rosa-vega-ink, 100, with the note CAKE-BFA1E
  2. Your client sees Held, not booked, until you confirm.
The client's almost-booked page: they reported sending the deposit, Cake cannot see the transfer, and Wednesday Oct 7 is held for them
  3. Your client sees Then booked.
The client's booked page: Wednesday Oct 7, 11 AM to 2 PM, with Rosa Vega, deposit received and credited to the total

The time waits. Not forever.

While a deposit is on its way, the time is held for that client. You pick how long: 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours. Confirm it inside that and the time locks. If you don't, it goes back on offer.
