Wrap up a session

When a session ends, wrap it up in Cake: record how long it ran and what your client paid. Below: the screen, what clears Needs you, and how to undo a wrap-up.

The short answer

  • Open the session, press Wrap up session, fill in Wrap up, and press Done.
  • Done moves the request to Completed.
  • If you never started the session, pick how it ran under Log the session, and you get the same Wrap up screen.
  • What you report on the screen is your word. Cake doesn't move or check the money.

Wrap up a session you started

Open the session, press Wrap up session, fill in Wrap up, and press Done.

  1. Open the session. From the request, press Go to session day. Or tap the session in Calendar.

  2. Press Start session when it begins. A timer runs, with Notes and Photos.

  3. When you finish, press Wrap up session. That stops the clock and opens Wrap up. If the clock ran long, Cake may ask what time it ended. Pick the time.

  4. Wrap up shows Estimated time, You went and Logged.

  5. Under Payment, report what you collected. The steps are below.

  6. If you want a note, type it under Add a note and press Jot.

  7. Press Done.

To book the next visit, press Book next session. It opens Quick add already filled in.

A session you never started

If a session's time has passed and you never pressed Start session, opening it shows Log the session. Cake asks how it ran: On time, Ran 15 over, Ran 30 over or Ran an hour over. Cake logs the end as the booked end plus the time you pick.

If you never started the session, pick how it ran under Log the session, and you get the same Wrap up screen.

Report what you collected

  1. Under Payment, Cake shows Quoted and Deposit covered.

  2. Type the amount under What did you collect today? Cake fills in what's left of your quote.

  3. Under Received by, pick Cash, Card at the shop, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App or Payment link.

  4. Press Report payment. Cake reminds you to report only money you received.

Note: What you report on the screen is your word. Cake doesn't move or check the money. A card deposit paid through Cake isn't something you report here.

After you report one, the payment shows on the screen. Press Report another payment to add more.

What clears Needs you

Done moves the request to Completed.

  • Yes on Home: After a session's day is over, Past sessions on Home asks "Did Rosa make it?" Yes saves your answer. On the request's last session, when the booking is confirmed, it also moves the request to Completed. It doesn't wrap the session or ask for money. If you answered Yes first, Done on Wrap up closes the session.
  • No on Home: Cake says "Rosa didn't make it." and offers Message and Cancel session. The request stays where it is.

If you wrapped it by mistake

Press Reopen session on Wrap up. You can until the end of the session's day, in the session's own time zone. Reopening puts the request back to Booked. Reminders that closed at the wrap stay closed.

You can't reopen a session whose day is over, one on a request with another wrapped session, or one where you said Rosa made it.

To move a session that hasn't started, read Move, reschedule or lengthen a booked session.

Questions

I called off the session. Is there a Wrap up?

No. A session you called off, or marked a no-show, has no Wrap up screen.

Can I write to my client from Wrap up?

The Wrap up screen has no box for a message. To write to your client, open their conversation.
