To check it, open Settings , then Availability and calendar and find Timezone. It's in the hours form, above Time offers.
Open the list. Each zone shows the time there now, so you can match it to your clock.
Pick the right zone and press Save.
Note: The list has seven US zones: Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern, Arizona, Alaska and Hawaii. If Cake took a zone from Google that isn't one of them, such as Europe/London, the list adds it as an extra option under its full name.
You can also switch from Calendar. When your device's zone differs from Cake's, a banner says so, such as "Your calendar shows times in Los Angeles. This device is in New York." Press Use New York time. That saves it the same way as picking it in Settings. The X hides that pair of zones on this device.
If your device's zone isn't one of the seven, Timezone then shows its full name.
Cake follows your Google Calendar's time zone until you save a different one in Cake.
- A new account: Cake starts you on Pacific time. When you connect Google Calendar, Cake takes your Google Calendar's zone. It happens in the background, so it can take a few seconds. Cake checks Google again each day.
- When you pick one: Save a zone that differs from the one Cake has, and Cake keeps your pick for good. It stops following Google. Saving the same zone isn't a pick.
- What the screen shows: Timezone shows the zone, not where it came from. Cake doesn't show whether it's following Google or holding your pick.
Your zone sets what Cake uses for new bookings and for the view on Calendar. Quick add, approvals and reschedules start with it, and each has a zone box for one booking. Cake also updates the default zone of your Cake sessions calendar in Google.
- What stays put: A session that's already booked keeps the zone it was booked in. It keeps the same moment too. Your client's emails and page name that zone in words, such as 7:00 PM Central.
- On Calendar: A session booked in another zone carries a small zone note.
Why do my sessions show the wrong hour in Google Calendar?
Check Timezone first. A new account starts on Pacific time, and Cake takes Google's zone only if it could read it. If Timezone is right, check whether you moved the event in Google. Cake puts its start, end and zone back the next time it writes the event.
I changed the zone, but my booked sessions look the same.
They should. A booked session keeps its own zone and moment. The change applies to new bookings and to your view.
