Card refunds return the whole deposit

A card refund now returns the whole deposit, and clients can attach HEIC photos to your request form in Chrome and Firefox. Your client's pay page is shorter, an upcoming session's page shows the request, and Home shows the deposits you're waiting on.

Card refunds return the whole deposit

  • When you refund a card deposit, your client gets the whole deposit back.
  • You cover Stripe's card processing fee on the refund.
  • The refund-fee switch is gone from Settings, Payments, because every card refund is now in full.
  • Your client pays the deposit. Stripe takes its card processing fee from your payout.
  • When you cancel a session paid by card, the refund option reads Refund $100 to their card, with the amount still refundable on that card in place of $100.

Clients can attach HEIC photos in Chrome and Firefox

  • A HEIC photo, the format iPhones save, attaches on your request form in Chrome and Firefox, on desktop and Android. Before, it failed to attach.
  • If a photo can't be read or is too big, the form says so and what to choose instead. When the photo question is optional, your client can send the request without it.
The Add reference images box on a request form, with one attached photo under Up to 5.

Your client's pay page is shorter

  • With Card payments, your client sees one button, Pay the $100 deposit, with your deposit amount in place of $100. Above it sits one line: Processed by Stripe. You'll pay there with Apple Pay or card.
  • With Both, a client who hasn't paid any of the deposit sees two choices, Apple Pay & card, or Pay followed by your first name, then Continue.

Automated messages show what goes by email and what goes by text

  • Each reminder that's on in Settings, Automated messages names how it reaches your client, like Email and text · 7 days before, 1 day before.
  • Open a reminder that's on to edit the email words. The text stays locked, because carriers signed off on Cake's words.
  • Preview shows the email. It adds the text when texts can send.

An upcoming session's page shows the request

  • Tap an upcoming session on your calendar. The day, the time and the length sit on one card with Reschedule, Cancel and Message.
  • Start session comes next, then the request, with references, the idea, placement, size, style, budget and the client's answers.
  • Notes, Payment and Contact follow. On a laptop or a sideways iPad, the request sits in its own column.
  • Message opens that client's chat.

Home shows the deposits you're waiting on

  • When a client picks a time to pay you by app and hasn't reported paying, Home shows the deposit and how long the time stays held, with Remind and Mark it received.
  • When a client reports paying, Home shows the amount and the app, with Received. On a large card, Not yet sits beside it. The time left turns coral under four hours.
  • When the held time runs out before you've recorded any of the deposit, Home keeps the report and the amount. If the money is in your account, press "It landed, record it", then send fresh times.

A called-off session stays closed

  • A session you cancelled or marked as a no-show can't be started or logged. It shows its original time.
  • If you logged the session before you called it off, you can still report its payment.
  • On the approve screen, every time you add keeps its Added mark, not only the newest.
  • Quick add's Still needed line is plain text, not a red box. Its send button reads Send to plus your client's first name, and the overlap note rises into place like the other notes.
  • On a request, the Booked badge is purple and the Locked stamp is gone.
  • The email that nudges a client to pick a time says your times are open until the offer ends. It no longer says you're holding them.
  • Under Requests, Upcoming sorts by session date, Soonest first or Latest first.
  • Text boxes show a purple edge with a soft glow while you type, in the studio and on your client pages.
  • In Settings, Payments, your Venmo, Zelle, Cash App and payment link sit above the timing settings, and the payment link note reads Square, PayPal or any https page you take money on.
  • A request whose client email you edited opens again, instead of showing We couldn't load this request.
  • On a phone, the photo at the top of your page is a little shorter, so Recent work shows above Safari's bar.
  • In Time offers, the button for picking your own date reads Add a date.
  • The emails Cake sends you and your clients about requests and sessions share one look, with the Cake mark, a paper card and a footer.
