Record a deposit you already have
You can record a deposit that came to you outside Cake and book the session, without waiting for the client to say it arrived. A client can now tell you that none of your times work.
Record payment received, right on the request
An approved request carries a Record payment received button at the foot of the Offer out card. Pick where the money came in, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, or your payment link, check the amount, and tick that you saw the transfer. The request then reads Deposit received, and your client picks one of your times with nothing left to pay.
You never wait for the client to tap Deposit sent.
Money you give back goes on the request with Record money returned. A record you should not have made comes off with Correct this record, which tells the client the deposit was not received.
Your payment link opens at the top of the client's screen, so an app's built-in browser cannot swallow the payment.
Live now. Recording part of a deposit still has fixes on the way.
A client can say none of these times work, and you can send new ones any time
Your client taps None of these work on the times you sent, and the request lands in Needs you. Send new times whenever you want. The old ones do not have to expire first. A client can only claim or pay for a time their page showed.
Cake checks a client's email address, and tells you when one bounces
Your request form checks the address before it takes it. A client who types a domain that cannot take mail sees the warning and the suggested fix, and a missing at sign is named before anything submits. Nothing goes through until the address can take mail. The same check now runs on every form in Cake that asks for an email.
When a client's address refuses your mail, the request moves into Needs you and says the email bounced. The thread shows what happened to every send. Cake stops sending to that address.
Artist alert emails send again
Artist alert emails stopped at 01:15 UTC on September 8 and sent again from 08:06 UTC. No artist alert of any kind went out in that window. Client emails kept sending the whole time. The alerts that were missed cannot be sent now, and Cake knows which requests came in during those hours.
Quick add shows the whole address and carries your deposit note
Quick add shows the full studio address instead of the first line. A No deposit booking shows the quote you gave, with no payment step in front of it. The deposit note you wrote for a request carries over when you book that client from Quick add.
Quick add also says why Book it now is greyed out. It needs an email or a phone number.
Smaller fixes 8 lines
- Week view opens on the day you are looking at, and the day strip scrolls with it.
- The request page shows a time your client is holding, and your Confirm locks it. Amounts keep their cents.
- A No deposit booking stops showing payment instructions on the confirmed page.
- A Google calendar you reconnect never writes with stale credentials, and it reads ready once its work finishes. A calendar you deleted in Google no longer blocks a booking. We have not tried that last one yet with a calendar deleted in Google.
- Cake emails read at a phone's full width.
- The vouch page loads its check, and a link preview no longer counts as an opened vouch.
- Before a change reaches this page, Cake reads the beta room's own history for the artist who reported it, and records what it found.
- Every change is read twice before it goes live, once on the code and once on the written record.
